State Rep. Jaime Greene (R-Richmond) celebrated the signing of her legislation into law, securing the continuation of pheasant hunting in Michigan.
House Bill 4401, sponsored by Greene, was signed into law at the end of 2025 as Public Act 47 of 2025. The new law removes the sunset provision on pheasant hunting in Michigan, ensuring the continuation of pheasant hunting opportunities and providing long-term certainty for hunters across the state.
“Michigan’s hunting traditions are an important part of who we are,” said Greene. “They are deeply rooted in our local culture as a time-honored practice, especially in rural communities where generations of families have gathered to pass down these skills and traditions. By removing the sunset on pheasant hunting, we’re providing clarity and stability for sportsmen and women while supporting responsible conservation efforts. I’m proud to see this bill signed into law and grateful to my colleagues who worked with me to get it done.”
